Following an early morning start, you trek for three hours through lush green meadows and cross four mountain streams. Henceforth, the trek is a continuous uphill path lined with conifers and is virtually carpeted with a bed of leaves to leach Bakhim (9000 Ft / 2744 Mts), - a hill village. Tsoka (10000 Ft / 3049 Mts, 17Kms / 7 Hrs), is a slightly larger settlement with a few houses, a monastery and is the last village on the route. You spend the night at Tsoka. Dzongri is a picture of solitude surrounded by hills and mountains on all sides. The mountain fortress has no settlements except for two trekker’s huts. An early morning trek at around 4.30 am to the Dzongri top which at 14002 ft / 4269 mts is higher than most mountain peaks in Europe, presents yet another view of the Kanchenjunga along with other ranges basking in the glory of the rising sun. We return to the campsite and spend the day to acclimatize. Overnight at Trekkers Hut / Tent.

You lose altitude during the first half of the trek and steadily regain it as you walk along the river Prekchu, a tributary of the Rangeet before you reach your camping site at Thanshing. You leave at 3 a.m. in the morning equipped with torches braving the temperature of 90 below zero and climb to Goechala (the Goecha Pass 16252 Ft / 4955 Mts)- higher than any place in Europe. After sunshine, the area is engulfed with fog and cloned banks. You return to Lamune to collect your gear and move down to Thanshing or Kokchuring. Overnight at Trekkers Hut / Tent.

Today drive to visit Khecheopalri Lake (hiking for approx 03 - 04 Hrs). This lake is also known as the wishing lake. This unusually tranquil lake, surrounded by verdant forest is considered as one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim both by the Buddhist and the Hindus and no water sport or other activities are allowed at the lake except prayers / religious offerings. It is believed that even the birds do not permit even a single leaf to fall or float on the lake surface. The vicinity of the lake is an ideal place to find the Lepcha Houses and their communities. Further drive to Pelling (6100 Ft / 1860 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 Hrs). Overnight at Hotel.

Go for leisure walking, covering the three famous landmarks- Rabdantse Palace, Pemayangtse Monastery & Sangachoeling. Early morning walk of 30 minutes will reach you to Sangachoeling Monastery - second oldest in Sikkim. In past, on this trail, few of the bird watcher have sighted exotic Himalayan variety. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Then you head to the Rabdantse Palace- once the second capital of Sikkim is now a historical monument. On the way back you head for Pemayangtse Monastery. The Pemayangtse Monastery belongs to the Nyingma-pa order of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built as a small temple in the late 17th century by Latsun Chenpo.
