ITINERARY

DAY - 1
Arrive Delhi. Enjoy sights of Old and New Delhi, comprises the sights of old Chandni Chowk to the new Delhi Haat.

Today proceed on your exciting tour to the land of colors – India. On arrival at Delhi airport, you will meet and be transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Here you stay for two nights. Your hotel is located in heart of the city to give you the best timings to reach all the famous monuments and markets. There is much to see and do in Delhi capital city of independent India. Seven cities have existed here since the 10th Century and it has been ruled over by Rajputs, Turks, Afghans, Mughals and the British. Delhi is two cities in one. The first is the Old Delhi of the Mughals, created by Shah Jehan and still, a medieval palace of forts, mosques, and bazaars whilst the second in New Delhi. After relax and fresh up board your coach to explore Old and New Delhi, a city truly full of fascinating contrasts, where by day, temples are packed with the devout, and by night, hotel discos are packed with the affluent. Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, built at the site of his cremation on the banks of the Yamuna River. Drive past the Red Fort and continue to the Jama Masjid, site of an exquisite mosque in red sandstone and marble. Completed in 1656 after six years of work by 5,000 laborers, it is considered one of the loveliest houses of worship in the world. This afternoon you will visit New Delhi, which reflects the legacy the British left behind. Whereas the walled old city is all tradition in all its facets, New Delhi is a city trying to live up to the best of 21st century standards. Your tour to New Delhi begins with a visit to the Qutub Minar, the 234-foot high tower made of sandstone, known as the seventh wonder of Hindustan and the tallest stone tower in India and a wonderful example of Indo-Islamic architecture, complete with terra-cotta frills. At its foot lies the Quwwat-ul-Islam Masjid, the first Muslim mosque in India erected in the 12th century on the site of a Hindu temple, from materials salvaged from 27 demolished Hindu and Jain shrines a monument built by Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War and the Afghan Wars, to the Parliament building and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, the President's residence. DAY - 2
Drive to Agra – house of the world famous The Taj.

After breakfast in the morning, drive to Agra. The city of love and devotion. Agra, the imperial capital of erstwhile Mughal Empire, is the city of unspeakable grandeur. On arrival check into your pre-booked hotel. Later visit The Taj. The Taj Mahal is considered to be the symbol of undying love. It is supposed to be a timeless beauty that depicts the splendor of a woman who truly loved her husband. Built over a time period of 22 years by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal till date never fails to attract love-struck couples from far and wide. The Taj Mahal continues to enthrall not just visitors but also artists, painters, sculptors, poets, and photographers. Never has a monument been talked of so much that it appears in each and every aspect of art. The exquisite monument in white marble stands on the banks of the River Yamuna in Agra and looks picture perfect. It gives the word "perfection" an entirely new meaning. In fact, it is said that one must visit India just to see the Taj Mahal. One of the most famous symbols of tourism. At the end of the day, you will be satisfied with the experience, which is truly mind-blowing and one that you shall not forget for the rest of your life. Afterward, lose yourself in the local marble and leather markets where you should do your best to bargain for the marble products and high-quality leather wallets, shoes and belts. DAY - 3
Onto the famous Pink city, the capital of the state. The city full of color, culture, and monuments.

After breakfast in the morning, visit the famous city known as Pink City because it was built of pink stucco in imitation of sandstone. This capital of the state of Rajasthan is a land of beauty, color, and paradox. Here you find invincible forts and magnificent palaces and gardens, waves of sand dunes and serene lakes. Except for the busy traffic of bicycles, cars, and buses, little seems to have changed. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and is a marvelous synthesis of architectural influences that range from Hindu and Jain to Mughal. A well-planned city built from rose-colored terracotta that has given it a distinctive pink hue. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 4
Visit Hawa Mahal & free time to shop at local markets.

After breakfast in the morning, visit the Palace of Winds, the Hawa Mahal. Famous for its beehive like structure, the Mahal is an interplay of red and pink sandstone, carefully and painstakingly outlined with white borders and motifs, which served as an elaborate latticed facade behind which the cloistered ladies of the court used to watch the daily goings on in the street below. Enjoy the remain of the day to wonder about the local markets where you will find lovely silver jewelry, handicrafts and roadside mehndiwala (henna painters) who will paint ladies hands in the local tradition. DAY - 5
Fly to Mumbai, for your connecting flight to Cochin. Drive to Thekaddy (Periyar) – where you can see nature in its purest form.

On arrival meet and transferred to Thekkady. Check into your pre-booked hotel. popularly known as Queen of Arabian Sea. Later visit The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. It spread across 777 sq km, of which 360 sq km is a thick evergreen forest. The Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, the Reserve attracts visitors all over the world and is one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves. The pride of Kerala and a testimony to nature's splendor and human innovation, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the banks of the Periyar Lake - an artificial lake, at Thekkady. Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grasslands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion-tailed macaques, and Nilgiri langurs. In addition to elephant rides, cruises on the lake and treks to the ruined Mangala Devi temple - a beautiful old stone temple situated in the heart of the Thekkady forest, this sanctuary offers the unique opportunity to watch and photograph wild elephants at close quarters. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar, however, are the herds of wild elephants that come down to the play in the lake. Proceed for enjoying a boat cruise in Periyar Lake with a lunch break. The most enjoyable part of seeing the wildlife is going around the lake in a boat. From the safety of a boat, you can witness herds of wild elephants coming down to water and swim. The other prominent fauna to be seen are Tiger, Sambar, Barking deer, Mouse deer, Nilgiri Tahr, Wild Pigs, Wild dogs, Porcupine, Lion-tailed macaque, Malabar Squirrel, Flying Squirrel, Sloth Bear, Gaur and Black Langur (Monkey). Tigers and Leopards seldom come to the lakeside by day. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 6
Onto Kumarakom – a small cluster of islands on Vembanad Lake.

After breakfast in the morning, visit spice plantations like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea estates etc. on your way back to the hotel, you could stop at the local market and pick up some fragrant spices. Later in the afternoon, drive to Kumarakom the destination of Backwater. On arrival check into your pre-booked hotel. Relax in the comforts of your hotel. You can enjoy the beautiful sight of backwater from your hotel itself. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 7
Visit Kumarakom. Spend your night today onboard.

After breakfast in the morning proceed to explore Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and this small water world is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres, is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian storks that live there in flocks are a fascination for visitors. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip around the islands. An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. Boating and fishing facilities are available at Kumarakom. Holiday packages on the houseboats, traditional Kettuvalloms, are an out-of-this-world experience at Kumarakom. Visit THE BIRD PARK of Kumarakom. Later, check into a traditional houseboat of Kerala Style and go on a leisurely backwater cruise along the lake on a thatched houseboat. The houseboat with all modern comforts lets you discover the countryside at your own pace. You will have lunch, dinner, and breakfast in the Houseboat. DAY - 8
To Cochin, to board your flight to Goa.

After breakfast on board continue to cruise and disembark at Alleppey. Aleppey is famous for its boat races, houseboats, coir products, fish and lakes. Alappuzha remains prominent on the tourist trail of Kerala as one of the major centers for backwater boat trips. "Kuttanad" in Aleppey is one of few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Kuttanad is a land of lush paddy fields and is called the 'Rice Bowl' of Kerala. Kuttanad stretches for 75 Km sandwiched between the sea and the hills. Enjoy the short drive through the markets and villages over the innumerable bridges to Cochin. Board your flight to Goa. On arrival met and transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Goa, variously known as "Rome of the East", "Tourist Paradise" and "Pearl of the Orient", the state of Goa is located on the western coast of India in the coastal belt known as Konkan. The magnificent scenic beauty and the architectural splendors of its temples, churches and old houses have made Goa a firm favorite with travelers around the world. Nestled on the slopes of the Western Ghats (Sahyadri ranges), Goa is bounded on the North by Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, on the East by Belgaum, on the South by Karwar Districts of Karnataka, and on the west by the Arabian Sea. Legends from Hindu mythology credit Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu with the creation of Goa. Over the centuries various dynasties have ruled Goa. Rashtrakutas, Kadambas, Silaharas, Chalukyas, Bahamani Muslims and most famously the Portuguese have been rulers of Goa. Goa was liberated by the Indian Army from Portuguese colonization on 19th of December 1961 and became a Union Territory along with the enclaves of Daman and Diu. On 30th of May 1987, Goa has conferred statehood and became the 25th state of the Indian Republic. After all, more than anywhere else on planet earth, this is a place where people really know how to relax. Enjoy the beachside in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 9
City Tour of North Goa.

After breakfast in the morning, enjoy a city tour of North Goa. Situated on the Mandovi River, it still shows a strong Portuguese heritage in its plazas, cathedrals, and architecture. Although it is best known for its 65 miles/105 km of magnificent, palm tree-lined beaches along the Arabian Sea, Goa has other attractions of significance. The town of Old Goa has some of Goa's most prominent churches and the Basilica of Bom Jesus church stands out for its magnificent Baroque architecture and sacred legacy. Built in 1695, the Bom Jesus Church has been designed along the lines of Gesu, the Jesuit headquarters in Rome. In 1946, the church was declared a Minor Basilica, the first church of India to be accorded such a status. 'Bom Jesus' literally means 'Infant Jesus' or 'Good Jesus.' The Basilica of Bom Jesus enshrines the sacred remains of St. Francis Xavier, a member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) who died on a sea voyage to China in 1552. Legend has it that when the body of Xavier was transferred to Goa the following year, the body was found as fresh as the day it was buried. Consequent to this miracle the title of 'Saint' was conferred on Xavier and his mortal remains, confined inside his tomb, attracts devotees from all over the world. The exposition of St. Francis Xavier is held once in every ten years, the last being in 2004. Evening returns back to the hotel and enjoys the sunset at Beach. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 10
A day at Leisure OR you can opt to City tour of South Goa.

After breakfast in the morning, the day is kept on leisure. Alternatively, you can opt to drive to South Goa for Local Sightseeing. This includes sights of Colva beach, Palolem beach, Agonda beach. Here you can opt for some water sports like Parasailing etc. In the evening return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY - 11
Day free for leisure.

After breakfast in the morning, the day is kept free to relax in the comforts of your hotel OR you can opt to stroll along some beaches at Goa. Also, you can shop at some local market. As far as the shopping items are concerned, you will get the opportunity to choose from a wide range of artifacts and mementos. Artifacts made of shell work, bamboo work, brassware, curios and old coins, trinkets made of stones and corals, artifacts made of paper-mâché, carved furniture, and beachwear are some of the popular entries in shopping carts.

DAY - 12
Depart for Mumbai – the Commercial capital of India.

After breakfast in the morning, Check out from your hotel and reach the airport to catch your flight to Mumbai. On arrival check into your pre-booked hotel. Later ready yourself to enjoy the local sightseeing of Mumbai. Its young, it's lively and a confluence of varied cultural currents and cross currents have given Mumbai a unique position of the most multi-ethnic city of India. Oozing with the cocksure self-confidence of a maverick moneymaker and "Bindass" (carefree) attitude, Mumbai is also country's financial and commercial hub and has a principal port on the Arabian Sea. Mumbai is located on a site of ancient settlement and took its name from the local Goddess "Mumba" - a form of Parvati, the consort of Shiva, one of the principal Gods of Hinduism - whose temple once stood in what is now the southeastern section of the Mumbai city. Local tour of the city covers Gateway of India. Mumbai's principal landmark, the Gateway of India is a huge archway on the water's edge at Apollo Bunder. It is the starting point for most tourists who want to explore the city. This famous monument was built to commemorate the visit of the first ever British Monarch, King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. Rajabai Clock tower, situated at the gardens of the Bombay University building rises above the portion of the library section. Consisting of five elaborately decorated stories the tower is 280ft.in height. The top of the cupola is ornamented with sixteen statues depicting various Indian castes. Other than these places there is much more to see like Mumbai Fort, Flora Fountain/ Hutama Chowk, Mumbai high court, Victoria Terminus. Enjoy the CHOWPATTY BEACH area. Chowpatty beach situated at the end of Marine Drive has a moderate expanse of sand and is the only beach in the central part of Mumbai. One can witnesses many Hindu religious ceremonies taking place at Chowpatty like the Annual Thread-Tying Ceremony initiating young boys into the Brahmin caste, 'Nariel Purnima' towards the end of the monsoons and 'Ganesh Chaturthi' immersions. Later in the evening, enjoy Marine Drive in Mumbai: Marine Drive located in the central Mumbai, built in the 1920s and 30s on land reclaimed from the sea, is Mumbai's most famous thoroughfare. It is also referred to as the Queen's Necklace because of the dramatic line of street lamps lit up at night. Recently it has come to know as Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Road with Nariman Point on one end to Babulnath, at the foot of Walkeshwar on the other.
